Systematic Reviewer

The Health Behaviours Team within the Nuffield Department of Primary Care Health Sciences is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic candidate with knowledge of systematic reviewing and/or trial methodology.

The successful applicant will predominantly be expected to work on two systematic reviews exploring ways in which to reduce consumption of meat and dairy products, funded by the Wellcome Trust (https://wellcome.ac.uk/) as part of the Livestock, Environment and People (LEAP) programme (https://www.leap.ox.ac.uk/). In addition, there will be scope to contribute to other systematic reviews being carried out within the team. This post offers an opportunity to be embedded in a dynamic, growing team working on highly policy-relevant topics, and to develop expertise in gold-standard methods for evidence synthesis, as well as to work on key issues relating to behaviour change.

The successful applicant will possess sufficient knowledge of research methods and applied research to critically examine literature in the field. The appointee would ideally be at postdoctoral level, or with equivalent experience in conducting systematic reviews, although this is not essential. We will also consider candidates at Masters or above in a health-related discipline, together with some relevant research experience.

You will be based in the Health Behaviours Team at the Nuffield Department of Primary Care Health Sciences, Radcliffe Observatory Quarter, Woodstock Road, Oxford, OX2 6GG.

This is a fixed-term post available full-time for 12 months, in the first instance? However, we will also consider part-time working. Applicants wishing to work part-time should specify the number of hour they would like to work. The post is available immediately and an early start date is preferred.

An appointment on Grade 6 (£28,660 - £34,189 p.a.) with an appropriate adjustment in the duties may be considered.

Candidates are encouraged contact Jamie Hartmann-Boyce, who will be line managing this position, with informal enquiries about this vacancy. Email: jamie.hartmann-boyce@phc.ox.ac.uk.

The closing date for applications is 12.00 noon on 17 December 2018. Interviews are expected to take place on 10 January 2019.
